Earlier this year, Stena Line ordered a further two E-Flexer RoPax vessels with a larger design, to be deployed within Stena Line’s network in 2022. Ordered in July 2018, these larger ships will be 240 meters long with a total freight capacity of 3,600 lane meters, and passenger capacity of 1,200. Stena RoRo has purchased the RoPax-vessel Yamato from the Japanese shipping company Hankyu Ferry. The vessel will be rebuilt at a shipyard in Europe and be fully adapted to European standards, after which it will be chartered out. Stena has signed a contract, subject to Board approval by the end of April, for an order of four new RoPax ferries with planned delivery during 2019 and 2020, with an option for another four vessels.

Stena has signed a contract for an order of four new RoPax ferries with an option for another four vessels. This new generation of RoPax ferries, the Stena E-Flexer Class, has been developed internally by Stena and will represent a new generation of highly efficient, environmentally friendly and flexible vessels.
